Japan biomass power plants

Japan biomass power plants is a comprehensive list of the operational and planned biomass-fired power plants across Japan above 5MW. It contains information on the operating utility, location and capacity for both dedicated and co-firing biomass plants opened since 2012. The data sheet is updated periodically.

Users can obtain details of biomass power plants and operating capacities to carry out their own analysis relating to Japanese demand.

The data sheet also allows users to follow the construction of new plants.

European operational power plants

European operational biomass power plants is a comprehensive list of the operational biomass-fired power plants across Europe above 20MW. It contains information on the operating utility, location, capacity and feedstock. The data sheet is updated periodically.

Users can obtain details of biomass power plants and operating capacities to carry out their own analysis relating to European demand.

European biomass plant projects

European biomass plant projects is a detailed list of planned biomass-fired plants across Europe. It contains information on the project developer, location, capacity and status. The sheet is updated periodically.

Users can obtain details of future demand and plant feedstock requirements to carry out their own analysis.

The data sheet allows users to follow the planning, construction and commissioning of new biomass plants over 20MW.

Russian wood pellet export plants

The Russian wood pellet export plants data sheet is a detailed list of operating and planned export-focussed production plants in Russia. It contains information on the project operator, location, total export capacity and status. It is updated periodically.

Russian exports have grown in the last three years at an average of 12pc year-on-year, according to Eurostat statistics. But with the country taking an increased focus on wood pellet sustainability in recent months and a burgeoning Asian market absorbing volumes, market participants are expecting exports to ramp up in the coming years.

The data sheet allows users to follow the construction of new plants.

Baltic, Iberian wood pellet export plants

The Baltic, Iberian wood pellet export plants data sheet is a comprehensive list of operating and planned export-focussed production plants in the Baltic states and Iberia. It contains information on the project operator, location, total export capacity and status. It is updated periodically.

Users can obtain details of operating and planned export capacity to carry out their own analysis.

The data sheet is a regularly updated ‘project tracker’ allowing users to follow the construction of new plants.

North American wood pellet export plants

The North American wood pellet exports plants data sheet is a comprehensive list of operating and planned export-focused production plants in the US and Canada, containing information on the project operator, location, total export capacity and status. It is updated periodically.

Users can obtain details of operating and planned capacity out to 2018 to carry out their own analysis.

The data sheet is a regularly updated ‘project tracker’ allowing users to follow the construction of new plants. Project delays and production shortfalls are often market-moving events.

International wood pellet trade

This data sheet contains import and export data from reporting countries. It is updated twice monthly with data from Eurostat, the Japanese finance ministry, South Korea's customs service, the US International Trade Commission, Statistics Canada and the UK's HM Revenue and Customs.

Imports and exports from reporting countries are displayed in worksheets and formatted into user-friendly pivot tables. This grants users easy access to all reported wood pellet data consolidated in one place with the ability to perform their own analysis.

South Korean wood pellet tenders

The South Korean wood pellet tender data sheet is a catalogue of the five South Korean power generators' tender schedules.

The data are changed on a pro-rata basis to enable users to see tendered volumes on a month by month basis. This provides users with insight into the wood pellet demand requirements of the five South Korean power generators (Korea East-West Power (EWP), Korea Midland Power (Kompo), Korea South East Power (Kosep), Korea Southern Power (Kospo) and Korea Western Power (Kowepo).

The South Korean market is growing rapidly year-on-year, spurred by a renewable portfolio standard introduced in 2012 that aims to increase the share of renewables in the country’s power generation to 10pc by 2024. Consequently, the market is growing rapidly, with wood pellet imports increasing to 1,849,641t in 2014 from 484,668t in 2013.
